Starting with the revision round.

Timbercut Media LLC is building an autonomous creative-production agent: software that turns creative intent into executed production work. We’re starting with revisions in video post-production, where a missed note costs the most.

Mission

Turn creative intent into executed production work, and keep every decision on the record.

Creative teams don’t lack ideas or craft. They lose hours, and sometimes trust, in the gap between what someone asked for and what made it into the next version.

Timbercut is built for that gap. It reads the notes the way a good producer would, does the routine work an assistant editor would, and checks the result the way a careful reviewer would, then hands the decisions back to the people who own them.

Focus

Why revisions first.

An operating layer for creative teams is the long-term goal. It starts somewhere narrow, where the work can be checked.

  1. 01

    The work is defined

A round has edges: a set of notes, a cut, a brief and the rules it has to follow. That makes it a place where an agent can be precise, not just plausible.

  2. 02

    Mistakes are visible

The fear in every round is sending the client a version that missed something they asked for. That’s a concrete problem, felt by every producer and editor.

  3. 03

    Results can be checked

Each change can be tested against the request behind it and the rules that govern it. Verification is part of the job, not an afterthought.

  4. 04

    It builds the memory

Every round adds to the Creative Decision Graph. That record of what changed and why is what broader production work will need next.

Point of view

What we believe.

Five rules that shape the product, and this website.

  1. People make the calls.

Timbercut takes on the clerical work of a round. Subjective, costly and rule-breaking changes go to a named person, and a person signs off every round.

  2. Show the work.

Every change keeps its source note, its reading of that note, the rule that applied and the check that passed or didn’t.

  3. Accounted for isn’t done.

A round reports what was completed, what waits for a person and what’s blocked, so nobody mistakes a full list for a finished one.

  4. Never overwrite.

Changes land in a new version. The previous cut stays as it was, and history isn’t erased when a decision changes.

  5. Say what’s real.

Simulations, plans and sample data are labeled as what they are, on this site and in the product.

Direction

Where it goes from here.

There are no dates on this page. We’ll publish them when we can stand behind them.

  1. Now

    The revision round

The revision agent is in development. You can run a simulation of one round on this site, and pilot teams can bring a real one.

  2. Next

    Connected rounds

Connections to review, chat, storage and editing tools, starting with the ones pilot teams rely on.

  3. Later

An operating layer for creative teams

The same loop of understand, execute and verify, applied beyond revisions: versions, deliverables and the production work around the edit.

Help shape the first version.

Pilot teams bring real rounds and tell us where Timbercut gets them wrong. That’s how it gets right.
